Lisa Crosato, an award-winning actress, writer, and producer, recently sat down for an interview with THE LA NOTE to share her experiences in the entertainment industry.

Crosato shared the moment in high school when she realized that acting was her calling. After being approached by her drama teacher to fill in for a lead actress who had fallen ill, Crosato memorized the entire play in two days and delivered a stellar performance.

From that moment on, she knew that acting was what she was meant to do.

Of course, pursuing a career in acting and producing hasn’t been without its challenges. Crosato immigrated to Los Angeles from Canada without any connections in the industry, which meant starting from scratch in a new city.

While the experience was lonely and difficult, Crosato persevered and ultimately met her husband in 2009, proving that taking risks and pursuing one’s dreams can lead to great rewards.

Looking to the future, Crosato revealed her top three picks for people she’d like to meet to elevate her career and business.

These include Sam Rockwell, whom she wrote a movie role for in her new project; Rose Byrne, who she believes is a versatile actress with the perfect lead role in her new project; and Guillermo del Toro, a genius in the film industry who recently gave Crosato a compliment through a friend about her film festival, the City of Angels Women’s Film Festival.
