A lot of conversion-focused growth marketing agencies try to do it all, from strategy to ad management and everything in between. We take a different approach and choose to only focus on the post-click conversion experience. That means we don’t run ads for our clients. We just help them convert their traffic into more leads and sales. Because of this level of specialization, we’re able to deliver hyper-targeted results in less time than full-service agencies.

I originally wanted to be a police officer, not a marketer. In fact I went to college and grad school for criminal justice and was even accepted to the policy academy. But due to a knee injury, I had to choose a different path. I took what was a side-interest and turned it into a successful marketing business. The lesson learned is to be ready to adapt at whatever life throws your way and make the best of it.

We had a client a few years back who needed help with a low-converting landing page. They tried everything and the page just wasn’t working nearly as well as they needed it to. We suggested they try a different traffic strategy, and that ended up having the biggest impact of all the tests they had previously run. The lesson here was that its not only about what’s on your landing page that matters, it’s also about who you’re driving to the page. Everything needs to line up.

I’d say keep doing what you’re doing because its all going to be worth it. Maybe focus a little more on learning statistics, as that sure comes in handy now. And be kind to everyone you meet. You never know what they’re going through.

When I was 18, I got a job selling gym memberships at a large national health club chain. It was pretty much a commission-only job and was very competitive. But I learned so much in those two years that I still use some of the sales techniques today. Working in sales can teach you a tremendous amount about life and business. Plus, it was because of that job that I ended up going to college.
