Here’s How Scott Oldford Would Make A Million Dollars Starting From Scratch

1. Be Known For A Singular Thing

Become extremely clear on the singular thing that you want to be known for. Kill everything else.

2. Serve An Exact Target Audience

Decide the exact audience you want to help and forget about everyone else.

3. Master 2 Platforms

Decide which media platforms you will own and become the king of the hill of. FYI, don’t try to own more than 2, maybe 3, more than this is overkill.

4. Choose A Media Type

Decide what media type is going to help you the most, based on your audience and personality. Video, text, memes, podcasts, etc…

5. Get Your Funnel Up

Develop a marketing funnel that automatically allows you to bring strangers in as prospects and turn them into your raving advocates.

6. Create Your Value-Multiplier

Develop a value-multiplier, such as a high touch program or something that allows people to “buy” from you at an affordable entry rate, so they see you as a business and not just another person.

7. Publish DAILY!!!

Get in the habit of developing content EVERY, SINGLE, DAY. It doesn’t matter if it’s amazing, perfect, or wack as heck…most of it won’t be as perfect as you’d like anyway. As long as you are publishing to your main platforms, you’ll be in good shape.

8. Operate As-If

Operate as if you already have a captive audience, before you have one.  Travel into the “reality distortion field” and be THE person someone WANTS to follow. Therefore, be THE person you would want to follow.

9. Build Your Go-To List

Make a list of 250 influencers, 250 of your ideal customers, 250 podcasts, 250 blogs.

10. Pick Up The Phone

Get on the phone with AS MANY people on your list. If you aren’t having 40 calls a week, you’re doing something wrong. You are NOT selling anything when placing these calls. Your goal is to initiate and build rapport with your go-to list and eventually find out how you can add value to their lives.

11. Create A Community

Create an active community, such as a Facebook Group, Slack Channel, or Linkedin Group. Invite the people you resonate with (when you make your phone calls) to your exclusive community. Shoot to start and launch your group with 50 captive people.

12. Grab Attention

Start getting attention from the marketplace. Work to land a couple articles you publish, get featured on blogs, do podcasts, etc. Drive traffic to your funnel and leverage the published material to send to everyone who would find value in it. You will get a lot of rejection, but perseverance is the name of the game.

13. Keep Posting, Stay Consistent

Continue to create great value and post every single day.

14. Value Bomb Influencers

Help as many influencers, podcasters, and successful brands, by noticing what the need is. How can you help their audiences further their success or how can you help them directly.

15. Create Strategic Partnerships

Start partnering with specific folks who you’ve developed deep relationships with and work together to provide value to their audience. This will drive traffic to your funnel and directly result in growing your sales.

16. Join Masterminds

Attend Masterminds or Group Gatherings that are small. Your goal is to identify up to ten people you connect with at a deeper level. The closer the connection the more magical the partnership.

17.  Be A Connector

Start connecting people together and see how you can all benefit from working together as a collaborative.

18. Become Omnipresent

Continue being omnipresent with your content and increase the velocity of your consistency.

19. Rinse & Repeat

Do these things in its entirety then circle back to start the process over again. You will be a master of your attention engine and can create best practices to systematize your operation.

20. Do More, Strategically

  • Add PR
  • Add another Funnel
  • Add Paid Advertising
  • Add New Traffic Sources
  • Add a Team

Within 24 months, you’ll have the influence and audience required to run a successful online operation and never worry about money again.
