Emily Michail: From Design Engineer to helping entrepreneurs kickstart their online businesses
What is your area of expertise, who do you serve, and how do you serve them?
I am a Business and Mindset coach helping new ambitious entrepreneurs set up their business and online presence to start attracting high-ticket clients and create more freedom and success in their life.
We work together on each pillar of their business including mindset blocks, defining their unique niche, offers and messaging, learning what to post to attract clients, and methods to sell their offers effectively.
Why would someone choose you over a competitor?
I have years of experience in Business, Design Engineering and Marketing so I can help entrepreneurs set up their business using a combination of skills that is hard to find in the market.
You can see me as a one-stop shop since I can help clients not only craft a business strategy but also design their client journey, a strong brand, a simple landing page and basic marketing funnels without the need to hire multiple experts.
I follow a clear roadmap with proven strategies to set up a strong business foundation with my clients. However, this is not a cookie-cutter approach. We work together 1:1 to identify their strengths and interests and shape a personalised business model so that they feel aligned and excited with what they do.
Share a specific time you encountered an obstacle and describe how you overcame it.
Haha, definitely trying to show up as an introvert. I would sweat just thinking about doing a live video. I didn’t like my accent and I didn’t know what to say. “Why would someone want to listen to me?”
However, I knew that I had to do it if I wanted to grow a sustainable business and become a digital nomad (people need to know you and trust you in order to buy from you). I definitely did not want to go back to a 9-5 and this fear was bigger than showing up in front of an audience so I did the mindset work, gathered all the courage I had and I showed up.
I am so glad I did it since that had a tremendous impact on my business and when I started attracting more clients.
I feel that the “butterflies” in my stomach will never go away when presenting but at least now I know how to manage my anxiety to give powerful speeches with impact.
Share a short story about your best (or favorite) case study.
One of my clients joined a program which looked like it provided the solutions she wanted but after having an insightful conversation and doing the mindset work within the program, I identified the deeper root of her challenge and directed her to another roadmap with her consent.
If you deeply care about your clients it doesn’t matter that it is out of the “original plan” or think “this is what they asked for” but it is about being honest and directing them towards what they NEED even if they don’t know it yet.
What advice would you give the “20-Year-Old-You” who’s eager to start in life?
There is plenty of time to do everything you want if you have a clear vision and stay on the right path. Stay true to your vision and don’t settle for less.
Please describe a monumental time in your life that you’ll never forget.
The day I signed in my first high-ticket client. I was holding myself not to scream during the call when she announced she wanted to work with me but of course I had to look professional. Of course I immediately called my friends and family who were very supportive of this path.
Up until that moment it didn’t feel real, it felt more like building a community on Instagram until I started getting invoices and my business took off.
