King, who lives in Waverly with his family, including two children who attend the school, saw an opportunity to serve a community that doesn’t often receive programs of this caliber.
YOU ARE THE GIFT is a music-infused assembly designed to remind students of something they don’t hear nearly enough: their life has value, their voice matters, and who they are is significant. The experience helps young people reframe the holiday season, find hope in their own stories, and see themselves as the gift the world needs, exactly as they are.
For many students, the holidays aren’t great. Family dynamics, pressure and past experiences can make this season feel heavier than it looks. But the season can be meaningful when students understand their own worth.
Through storytelling, live performance and raw authenticity, King creates an experience where students don’t just hear his words, they feel them. As a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, he weaves artistry into every message, creating an unforgettable moment that stays with audiences long after they leave.
King is the founder of TEAMS.Coach, creator of the TEAMS Method and host of The Level Up Leader Podcast. He has advised executives and organizations from Fortune 500 companies to high-growth startups, bringing energy, insight and real-world frameworks that equip people to take action.
The Waverly High School assembly is free and open to all freshmen and sophomores.
